I find it hard to believe that someone who murdered another would so carelessly leave any evidence behind, let enough alone to be proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt...

It was fairly careless of them to kill so quickly. They didn't even wait to see how many points could be earned through other means before taking drastic action.

If they couldn't even stay their hand for a week, how thorough could they possibly have been in covering their tracks?
