It's hard to think of them as dead when they're walking and talking. But, death may work differently here, you're right.

I have to admit that's even harder to accept, since I don't feel dead, but... that may also simply be how death works here.

I can't remember it either. The last thing I can remember is being in my office.

I think I overheard one of the Reapers telling someone that death can be very traumatic, and that our souls can't remember what happened for our own sakes.

...it seems awfully convenient to me, but it's not untrue that the mind will sometimes lock traumatic memories away.

I've heard of that too. The fact it seems to be every single one of us makes it suspect.

Yes... well, if that is the case, it's possible we might be able to recover those memories.

Do you have experience recovering memories?

Some, but the circumstances were different than they would be here.

I suppose so. [she gives a small huff.] ...If I had my power over dreams, here, it would be easier to delve into our memories.

It seems they wanted us on an even playing field for this. How inconvenient.

If evening the playing field was their intention, perhaps that's why so many of us ended up with "Drift Aura" and "Healing Aura". Depending on how the teams are divided up, most teams could end up with someone who could use at least one of them, if not both.

I thought it was ten...? Ah, but Kaveh and I are teaming up, so it's essentially nine.

I've met a few people from "Earth," but it seems like each of them are from different worlds from each other. I wonder how many Earths there are.

Quite a few, it seems. I've met some people who've heard of Earth, but call it the Old World. I wonder what makes the setting so popular.
