There’s a number of three people teams now. Or there will be after today. If someone’s willing to take him it, then it might change how we look at this whole situation from now on.

I don't know if it would be possible. The rulebook does say that if your teammates are all erased, you will be as well, but what if...

Is it possible to leave a team after it's been formed? I've seen people switch allegiances from one group to another in Teyvat. And I know it's not the same thing, but... if you leave a team before the last member of it is erased, and join another...

But if Matsui doesn't plan to take drastic action, then they need to stick together.
Eventually the numbers will whittle down, in theory. And some teams might choose to stick in a smaller group. Look at this way — you can keep mixing it up, but you gain numbers and lose trust.
Smaller groups might be more at risk, but if it’s a group that trusts each other they have advantages over the others.

I’m not sure what this does to the “if you win you can revive your team” argument though. If you change teams, then I assume you’re leaving your old team behind. [ … ] But if it’s just you left, you can’t save them anyway.
It may turn out that it's not possible, of course. But... it doesn't explicitly say that you cannot ever change which team you are on. "You will choose teammates at the start of the game" implies it, but it doesn't outright say that you can't make another choice later.

But I may just be looking for loopholes that don't actually exist because I'm worried. And I don't know what it would mean for the caveat of a winning team being able to revive their erased teammates. Would the link binding the existences of the original teammates carry over, and change the erased Players' teams? Or would they stand no chance of being revived...?
I'll... ask the Reapers about it. It's a little too late for me to ask right now... [our poor mods] ...but maybe... even if it isn't something we need to make use of right away, a clear understanding of what is and is not possible could only help.
We might find out definitively tomorrow. Although it’d be nice if we didn’t.
[ matsoo what will you do. ]
Dunno. That might be a sadist’s choice — if you’re the only one left, that’s it for you. You’re going to be erased and your team is gone. You either accept that, or if the option is there you hop teams and keep going. But if you win, you can’t do anything to help the team you started with.
[ kinda brutal, really. ]
I don’t know whether you could consider someone as part of a team if they change groups. I doubt this place would be kind enough to revive multiple people across teams without a real bit of arm twisting in the process.
But right now, we’re just spewing hot air with no real basis. [ asking the reapers seems like a logical idea, but they’re so slippery about answering things that he’s not sure they’ll get much out of it until the dreaded situation actually happens. ]
I would prefer it if this remained a hypothetical situation. But in the event that it isn't... well, I want to do everything I can to save as many lives as I can. Even if it's only one...

I'm sorry. This probably isn't the sort of thing you had in mind when you agreed to team up with me, is it?
...I'm glad that you agreed. [there's a tired sort of gratitude that comes from her as she stays settled on his shoulder.] This is all very difficult, but I think it would be more difficult without you.

All I had in mind was joining a team and not getting erased. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t work with people I didn’t know or trust.

All the ideals in the world won't do me much good if I don't have the practicality to support them.

As long as you’re open to suggestion, you should be fine.
