Pretty much right after we freed the girl. Only a few days before I ended up...here.

Same thing I planned to do when I found out: kick my ex-boss's butt and keep protecting the town.

The rest is...trickier.

That seems like it will be a tough job... if he's the mayor, he's probably got backers of some kind. But you were able to foil his plans for the girl once already, so it's all a matter of strategy.

I don't know about that. Just gotta kick his butt hard enough and trap him for good. Bam, problem solved. Sure, the town won't have a mayor for a bit, but at least it won't be him anymore.
