There are other Archons who are even older than me who haven't lost their memories. I wonder how they keep everything straight.

...there aren't a lot of people in Sumeru who are comfortable enough with me to talk to me like a friend. So... I've been really happy that people have been doing it here.

Guess you just needed a bunch of people who don't know better. Or—people who caaaan't quite wrap their head around the concept to begin with.

It's a little hard for me to wrap my head around the concept of a world without gods who interact directly with the world, but...

I suppose that's because I've always lived in a world where we do. So, it makes sense that it would be hard for someone who grew up without having proof of a god's existence to accept it at face value when someone says, "I'm a god."

Yeah. I believe it in the sense that I trust that's how things work in your world... But I don't know that mine even has gods. Or a God. Or anything.

If there isn't a god, what shaped your world?

[camena]

We don't really know. Some people think it was a god. Or some people think it was just kind of—everything bursting into existence and slowly turning into what we know, naturally over time.

That's an interesting theory. There are some things that do form spontaneously when there's a high enough concentration of elemental energy, so the idea isn't entirely without merit...

[camena]

I don't know if we have elemental energy the same way you to, so mostly it's a lot of like... Rocks in space smashing into each other.

Rocks in space...?

[camena]

Like how the planet is basically just a really big rock floating out in space. There are other big rocks and they all kind of... Interact? With each other? Like, with gravitational pulls and stuff.

...that sounds like it would make a fascinating field of study...

[camena]

Yeah? I guess it could be. It seems complicated and I only know, like, surface-level stuff. But I do like history, generally.

Hehe. Usually the deeper into a subject you get, the more complicated it becomes. But when you're interested in the topic, that just makes it more fun.

Sort of. History can also be pretty depressing, though.

That's true... I suppose it can. Hopefully the future that the people living in the presnet will write for themselves is less so.
