[me just looking through these articles about weird history facts to figure out what i can put into a history museum]
Really? I guess it did taste a little sweet when I tried it... I wonder if there was a difference between the ketchup they made back then and the ketchup there is now.
[ as she says this she is gesturing the size and shape of a banana in a very unhelpful way. ]
I think there are a bunch of props at the selfie place shaped like bananas. I'll take a picture of one for you or something next time I'm around there.
Yeah, and they've got a funny peel. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is they've been basically bred into a whole other thing than they used to be—so we have like artificial flavors that are supposed to taste like banana, but they still taste like this old version of what bananas used to... be...
Mhm. A lot of people only really remember the big things... and that's understandable, because they're especially memorable. But the little things help us to see life as it really was in the times long since past.
[i mean, honestly, the bananas were not the victor in that fight... now almost no one knows what they really tasted like...]
Yes, that can make written records a little unreliable. An objective record is best, but I guess those can be difficult for most people to get their hands on...
It might be different in other worlds, but there's an objective record of all things in Teyvat. Memories of the world are carried through ley lines to Irminsul, which is a repository for all sorts of information.
It's a shame that you don't. But, even with it... not everyone in my world knows that it exists, and even of those who do know, not everyone can connect to it. So there is still a lot of debate about historical facts from people who won't accept that their viewpoint isn't objectively true...
They really are. In a way it's admirable how firm they are in their convictions, but... being willing to reassess your view of things once you have new information is more of a virtue, I think.

I... didn't know that. I know that these days it has, like, a toooon of sugar in it though. [ nahida's fun facts were more interesting. ]

[ yeah duh. ]
Kind of like bananas, I think? They've been, like, messed with so much that they taste totally different now than they used to.

I think I might have seen something like them while I was there. They're... yellow?

Wait, this is super boring, huh?

It's something I didn't know before, so... to me, it's fascinating. ...umm, but I guess it must be boring to you, since you did know it already?

It's just random trivia, but I think it's kinda neat. Like, the way that stuff changes over time, or the reasons behind things like a weird flavor.
