A family new to our town came in to get a pet for the home they recently moved into, but... they couldn't agree on what kind of pet to get. So I sent Ten-chan with them. He has a good habit of being the perfect pet for everyone no matter what they want.
Someone had come with them they didn't realize, though. The ghost of a little dog who belonged to the previous family of the house. That family had left her behind and likely was involved in a murder suicide because of debt. She died waiting on them to return, but didn't realize she had.
The house caught on fire, but the family was alright. The dog was reunited with her family thanks to Ten-chan, and the new one was able to look for another pet when they were ready on the condition they could agree on what kind.
[she listens, fascinated, as d tells the story. it's a little bit sad, thinking of the little ghost dog waiting for her family to come back, but... it sounds like the situation resolved itself in the end.]

Did that family ever end up agreeing on the kind of pet they wanted? Or have they not come back to visit you since?
All my life. I lived with my grandfather in the pet shop while he sold them, and then he went away on business, so I ran the shop in his place for a while.
Now the shop belongs to me while Grandfather raises my son.
