[In Ikea, D is on one of the available model beds. He's... resting...? He's on his back, hands folded neatly together over the top of his stomach. His eyes are closed.
Dracula Sleeping Beauty...
With him is the strange creature, goat horns and tiger paws and all. It's sprawled partially over one side of his chest, sitting somewhat upright on its front paws and keeping watch...]
[nahida suddenly has flashbacks to finding matsui gou the day before.
...she watches d for a few long moments to see if his chest (and the weird goat creature, if it's partly on his chest) is rising and falling like he's just asleep. provided he is, in fact, breathing, she won't worry about it too much; rather, she'll examine the creature keeping watch with curiosity.
D's chest is rising and falling, yes. The goat-tiger also rises and falls gently. It peers down at her from its perch, watchful. It looks grumpy, but more in the resting bitch face way.
It takes a long, decisive moment after the wave before it huffs in greeting at her.]
D is in the selfie shop. Fortunately, he has been here several times already and run into other people who have explained this is not a simple modeling studio, but a quirky little Gen Z hangout for "selfies."
He's with T-chan also who is having the worst week of his furry life.]
That's a bit disappointing, but it's still very cute to look at. I wonder if we might be able to find edible versions of these in other parts of the city? ...although they'd likely be much smaller.
[Noooooooooooooo. It's fine. D is having a similar sort of reaction, though he already knew, so it's more in response to her own reaction.]
Yes, it's rather disappointing. [He looks at the room. It is so cute, and for what? Nothing to eat.] Miss Aika told me there would be more places to come. I made a request for more sweets and tea.
[Oh.]
I purchased some lemon pound cake from her for a dollar.
[goes with the food court because my brain is small and my internet is laggy and won't load rng
anyway she is here because she desperately needs sweets after all of that and she does not want to eat at mcdonald's after being stuck there for nine hours. when she turns away from the counter with her strawberry ice cream, she spots count d.]
[Not her being here for the exact same reasons he is here, very funny. He is already sitting out with, like, several things on the table with him that are sweet. He has way too many sweets.
He's in the museum having a look around. It seems like he's pretty interested in the museum as a whole (he looks delighted), but he keeps stopping by anything that resembles an animal or animal bones.]
Ah... Meganeuropsis... It's a shame you are left only a fossil imprint... I bet you would have been quite beautiful to see.
[she is also wandering around the museum, looking delighted... when her path crosses with d's, she comes to look at the informational plaque near the fossil and hums to herself.]
I see... so it was one of the largest known insects to have ever lived. [she examines the fossil next.] It is pretty big... it looks bigger than crystalflies.
[He nods in acknowledgment, gazing upon this giant dragonfly as if it's a royal gem.]
People from my time call them dragonflies; they're much smaller. Though I think they were once called Devil's Fly, but it was mistranslated to dragon because the words were similar. [He glances at her.] Crystalflies?
Huh... [nahida ponders the fossil and wonders how much smaller dragonflies actually are now. me googling to see if genshin has dragonflies bc they do have butterflies and it doesn't? look like they do? but i found a fanon wiki that says there are dragonflies from fontaine that smell like lemons and now i'm like "how do you guys come up with this stuff"] Is there a reason they're so much smaller now?
[probably the big ones were too easy to see and smack out of the sky when people got scared...]
They're elemental life-forms. They look almost like butterflies, but their wings are shaped differently, and they tend to be colored depending on which sources of elemental energy they form near. They're usually found near Statues of the Seven, where there's a high concentration of elemental power...
The ones you find in Sumeru have bright green wings, with darker green markings and orange tips. Their cores look almost like emeralds, but brighter. Hmm... maybe more like peridots?
Ah, I see. [Sorry to Nahida, but now he's super invested in what she's saying. He looks very enraptured at the literal everything of the crystalflies...] They sound amazing. And very beautiful too.
