They're much bigger than this. The adult ones are even bigger than me!
[not that that's. hard.]
They're black or dark brown, near their heads, but it sort of fades out to grey near their tails. They have red spines that come up from their heads, like this -
[she gestures with her hands to indicate the approximate size and shape of their spines.]
[ topper, who is done attacking the blahaj, trots over to where the drawing is, and nahida, leaning up to sniff a little at some of her white hair. sniff sniff. he is leaning precariously on tip toe. ]
[ she is gifted with topper crawling into her lap because she has a 0 danger rating on his radar as a creature of nature. he churrs and just lets her pet him as much as she wants. ]
Mmmm, well we've got these guys...
[ he draws one of these catcus-lookin mfers. and this fluffy murderpaws. pretend they're less meancing. ]
This one's called a catamite... and that one's just a wolf from the woods.
[me double-taking because that is not what i expected the cactus to be called
anyway, nahida idly pets topper, letting him settle in her lap as she examines the drawings.]
...how interesting. We have similar creatures in Sumeru - the Fungi. They're different shapes depending on the elements they're most aligned with, though.
[topper gets a little pat to his head in response to the chirp.]
...certain visions can be frightening. I don't know the details, of course, but... even if it's a little scary, it will give you an idea of how to prepare for what might come. So maybe by the time the real thing comes it won't be so scary.

the way topper looks kind of like an albino weasel thief]
I suppose it does, but...
[she's... not fond of sea creatures...]
no subject
[ the fact that he does except he's not leaking any money. ]
no subject
[although the plushie is at least not as freaky as an actual shark would be.]

[ who he is currently kicking to death. we are surrounded. i forgot they have a section like this. ]
Let's find another one to hang out with.
no subject
...it looks a little different from spinocrocodiles...
no subject
Spinocrocodiles? [ he pulls out some of his receipt paper and his pencil and sets it down. ] Different in what way?
[ startin' to doodle a little crocodile now ]

Here, help me with the spines. I don't think I can get them the right size. You seem to know, though!
no subject
[she traces out an approximation of the spines. it's not completely accurate, but.. it's close.]
Something like that, I think.

[ eiden hums, moving in to gently shade them in and maybe add some more details to the teeth hehe. ]
You must have some really cool animals where you're from. I'm Eiden, by the way.
no subject
[she smiles, allowing eiden to take over the drawing.]
Oh, we have all sorts of them! Rishboland Tigers, Shroomboars, Sumpter Beasts...
no subject
Sumpter Beasts? Are they super dangerous?
[ me laughing ]
no subject
Hmm... for the most part, not terribly. If you treat them right, they're very gentle.
no subject
They sound really nice, heh. A lot of the animals in Klein can be that way too...
no subject
[topper is getting all the pets.]

Sounds kinda like Klein... what a cool world.
no subject
[she smiles.]
Is elemental energy prevalent in Klein too?
no subject
We have these things called elemental spirits that... well. They can sometimes show you the shape of things to come if you're lucky.
no subject
no subject
Yeah.
Kinda scary ones actually...
no subject
[her ears droop.]
I'm sorry to hear that.
no subject
It's okay! Hey... I'll figure it out, you know? I've got to.
... You sound familiar with that sort of thing.
