[He is unfortunately just going to be teary-eyed and/or crying a little every time they do this tbh. 'Tis a fact. But he will keep it together more or less because he doesn't want to lose his concentration.]
Thank you for writing so soon--it really helped. [He was NOT doing well on Sunday, that's for sure.]
[After everything she and Shu did so that he wouldn't have to, they weren't even in second place. And he didn't have the heart to finish what she started, not after he saw who the top two teams were. It makes it all feel so meaningless.
But if he lets himself dwell on that for too long, he's going to lose his concentration, so.]
Livio thinks that Ylfa and Haru should have enough points to bring everyone back. But even if they don't, I'm sure you'll be one of the people they choose. So--it shouldn't be like this for too long.
You don't need to be sorry, Kaveh. Ylfa told me that you and Shu helped her, Haru, Netzach, and Yuzuriha a lot. [her expression is warm.] They had an exceedingly heavy burden on their shoulders. But, you have made it lighter for them, just by being yourselves. Even if you didn't take direct action yourself, the fact that you were there for them... it's important.
There's still a lot I don't really understand about the human heart, but... no one can do everything all on their own. They need the support of others, and you've provided that in spades, better than I ever could have hoped to.
[she firmly believes this and will not be dissuaded for it.]
Mm, I agree. They should have enough points. There are still going to be some chances to earn more this week; we can expect to see some fluctuations. ...and from what I've heard, we do still need to be careful. They can lose points if they break the rules, so we do need to keep playing along, at least for now.
But an end to this is in sight, and... I think we'll be able to go home. All of us.
[He's not sure how much he believes it, but he's circled back to a place of learning to pick his battles and repress the rest, so--]
You were there for them too, Nahida. Don't forget that.
[They've only endured one week without her, really, even though it feels like forever. He also thinks she probably did more for them than he ever did, but he's not going to argue about that either.
They're so close to the end. He wants... a lot of things, but he also wants to go home.]
I hope so. [He's quiet for a moment, contemplative.] You said it's important to use our powers still, right? Should I use it in any particular way this week?
[she nods slightly at that - she won't forget what he's said, even if it is a little hard for her to believe; still, she doesn't want to argue about it, either. so she'll just let it be.
...soon, they'll be able to go home. she really, really wants that to be true.]
I think the way it's used is something that can be done however you feel is best. Although... [thinking about the timing...] They mentioned that there would be the usual chances to earn points, didn't they? So, going by the pattern... midweek, you may be facing something similar to the Olympics, or the exorcism, or the treasure hunting...
It might be a good idea to use it then and there, if the pattern holds. It feels like the tasks are less dangerous one week and more dangerous the next.
[coming back to this is the funniest thing in the world]
Yes, last week was rather hands off... relaxing, almost. [Christmas was so long ago...] It stands to reason that this week will be more intense, so I'll put it to use there. If it's unneeded, I'll just use it for something else at the end of the day.

I'm just sorry I couldn't do more to help.

[Kaveh like "wine dupe" /they all explode]

Mm, that's a good plan. I trust your judgment, Kaveh.
[AND THEN IT DIDN'T MATTER BECAUSE THEY EXPLODED!!!!! lord.]
