...Justice. Maybe Keyes-san was right, and someone was trying to frame him. But with bite and Lambda-san being... cold, it felt like the closest we had to a real answer.
It's the same for me. Everyone who's told me said they voted for Justice, too. So Hot Mess may have only gotten the vote by a few. There's only thirty or so of us left, so it wouldn't be that hard if someone threw their votes out, or something.
In general, sure. For Matsuoka's trial, I started overthinking and got scared, so I changed it at the last second - threw away the vote for a team that we knew couldn't be involved, just to try to avoid something like this. As far as I know, that's the only time I didn't get it right.
The only thing I can think of that I did differently last week was talking to the reapers one on one - besides the vote, I mean. I've done the tasks each week, and voted right most weeks, so... I don't know what else changed, exactly.
...let's check on Monday and see how the money we get compares. We voted alike, we talked to them, we took part in the weekly tasks, and neither of us investigated this past Friday... so it should be identical, shouldn't it?
...that makes sense. Shu received the same amount after finding Hikari.
[so there's... sort of a baseline there.]
Even if we don't get confirmation about the votes... I... [...] ...it feels like almost too much of a coincidence that the bite mark could have matched Simon's monkey. It could have been a Noise, but... a Noise that just so happens to have a similar bite as an animal in the possession of someone who could use a Psych that we have reason to suspect was used?
I'm with you on that. Saying it could have been a noise is... convenient. I don't remember anyone mentioning seeing one on Thursday, so it's possible it was with Lambda-san if one came up, but we haven't even seen one that's... monkey-like. And Alex was insistent that Lambda-san isn't that cold normally.
Maybe it wasn't Keyes-san himself - I don't know. But it really does make the most sense for it to be someone on their team.
...I think it fits the most if it is him. The bite on her arm, the way the lions were involved to dispose of the evidence... you could argue that maybe the monkey would have followed anyone on his team, but other than the bite... there wasn't a lot of indication that he was there, was he?
In a situation like that, I would expect an animal to panic. Especially if it got close enough to Lambda to bite her. ...but if it was accompanied by someone who could train animals - maybe Simon would have been able to keep him calm enough to keep from leaving more evidence it was there.
He did have a point that using the lions to get rid of Lambda-san's arm was an obvious point against him, so I agree that if someone was framing him, that was deliberate. But he kept insisting that the fires would have been better - and that's true, but we have no idea when they happened. If Lambda-san was attacked first, they wouldn't have been there at all yet, so... use what's there, right?
And Money... I've never seen him panic at all, but he's always with Keyes-san. I could see him trying to protect Keyes-san, though. And he is strong, so maybe he really could have helped somehow.
It was an obvious point against him, but only because they... hadn't finished disposing of it.
[she frowns slightly.]
...but I'll be honest. If I were going to give something to a lion, I wouldn't expect any trace of it to be left. And the rest of us are hardly likely to go looking for something in a lion's stomach.
Even assuming the fires were out there... it would take a lot more time for the fire to burn it all without leaving any trace whatsoever than it would for a lion to swallow it whole. So for him to try to say that fire was the better option... that doesn't feel right to me.
We did end up finding it, but only because we were lucky enough that the lion hadn't finished it entirely. But from what I know of animals... and, granted, I'm thinking more of Sumeru's Rishboland Tigers, so maybe they eat differently than lions do... that isn't what would have happened in most cases.
I could see him throwing it to the lions thinking we would have no way of finding it at all.
He argued that the lions probably wouldn't even realize it was something they could eat because she didn't bleed like a human. Maybe that's exactly what happened.
[ because these are all good points, none he can argue with. maybe simon thought it would be the same as a human limb, but it wasn't, and he's trying to cover his tracks. ]
...Fukuzawa-san seems to really believe him. He'll be hurt, if we're right about Keyes-san.
w3 saturday
Nahida. [ today sucked so he's not going to ask how she's doing, but... ] I'm sorry - that we didn't find an answer today.

[her ears are a little droopy.]
You don't need to apologize for that. It's not your fault.

[she sighs]
...may I ask who you ended up voting for?

...but most of the people I've spoken with so far have also said they voted for Justice. Just how close were the votes...?

Generally speaking, have you voted correctly at the trials?
no subject
In general, sure. For Matsuoka's trial, I started overthinking and got scared, so I changed it at the last second - threw away the vote for a team that we knew couldn't be involved, just to try to avoid something like this. As far as I know, that's the only time I didn't get it right.
Why?

...It was the same amount until this past Monday. You think that has something to do with the votes?
no subject
I can't think of anything about my actions that would have been different between those weeks - only that.
no subject
[ it was tutorial week he's probably thinking too hard tbh ]
This was the first week I got more than that. [ hmmm. ] I can let you know what happens on Monday, either way. Maybe we can still figure it out.
no subject
[her brow furrows a little at that.]
I wonder if there's anything you and I did differently from each other that week, then...?
no subject
no subject
Oh... the week I voted wrong was also the week I didn't speak with them one on one.
