I'll concede that the idea of an afterlife isn't the most unusual thing. But in talking with others here, I've come to the conclusion that most of us come from different worlds.

...an afterlife that is naturally shared between worlds is a much harder concept to accept. So, why us, and why this place? Why did we all die at the same time, and of all the people in all the worlds who could have died, why were we the ones chosen to play this "Reaper's Game"?

Right. Some people I've talked to didn't even have magic where they're from.

Honestly, that makes me even more certain that they're lying.

If they are lying, then the question becomes, why would they lie about such a thing...?

[she sighs.]

There are so many questions. It's a little frustrating not to know the answers...

[medeian]

The easy answer is that they're getting something out of this, but that just leads to more questions, too.

[frowning.]

So - frustrating is definitely an understatement.

[dendroculi]

...we'll just have to figure it out a little at a time. Like a puzzle - once we collect all the pieces, it will become much more clear.

[medeian]

You think that's how it'll work out?

[dendroculi]

It might take more time than we'd like, but we're sure to gain a better understanding of what's going on than we have right now.

You're pretty optimistic.

The moment we give up on things is the moment when they become impossible. As long as we keep trying, there's always at least a small chance.
