[ hey did somebody get the license plate number of that pig....
in all seriousness, wow! okay! there is a lot to unpack here, and when the memory finishes and jonas finds himself in the barrier with nahida, he's staring down at her very curiously and very, very confused. ]
...Nahida...I have like twenty questions about what all of that was, but I think the biggest one is what is a gnosis and why was a god created, actually? [ HOW. ]
[she looks up at him. her brows are a little furrowed, because parts of that memory don't seem quite right to her -
who is the g̷̻̑r̵͙̹͗̀-̴͍̪̈-̴͎̍̃t̶͚̆-̶͙̔͝r̶̙̎̆ ̷͇̻̒̓l̶͍͘-̶̘̗̒̈-̵̣̩̀d̶̖̹̒?
- but his questions take precedent over her own musings.]
A gnosis is... you can think of it as a representation of a god's power. It's not the source of their power, exactly, but it's something that can resonate with the heavens. Have you heard much about Visions? They're sort of like a more advanced version of those.
[a pause, and then...]
As for why... [...] ...the Sages wanted to replace me.
Yeah, Shenhe...sort of told me a little about Visions. Not in detail or anything, just what they can do. But that makes sense. It'd have to be more advanced in order to be in a god's hands.
[ but he frowns at that again. ]
Replace you? [ he does remember kaveh saying nahida suffered a lot of injustices and that the removal of the sages meant she could regain her rightful place, but he hadn't heard more than that. ] Why?
Hey--! [ he doesn't get to protest much though before a memory plays until 39:02. times jonas is off-screen (31:29-34:07) can be skipped but viewed for the path of the cave itself. ]
[the first part is... kind of fun, actually. sure, the cave is a little bit creepy, but it is beautiful. and the banter between friends... that warms nahida's heart.
but it all goes very weird, very fast. when they come out of it, she blinks rapidly, trying to process it all.]
Ghosts are generally pretty creepy and rude as far as I can tell. I mean this was the first time I'd ever really met them, but they left an impression.
Uh. No, we...we just wouldn't have existed anymore, I guess. You could say it was like they were trying to eat our souls in order to make room for themselves.
[hmm. unfortunately, this is not the first time she's seen a smile that doesn't reach someone's eyes. she'd seen it quite often with the sages, in fact, so that... leaves her more than a little unsettled.]
[i, britt, do not believe him. nahida is also a little doubtful just because everyone's luck has been absolutely abysmal to die and end up in the reaper's game, but she doesn't want to be a pessimist, so she nods.]

[whatever she was going to say is interrupted when the pig noise rudely comes running back and slams into them again. gimme a jonas memory.]

Did you - did you find out what that was?
no subject
...unfortunately, yeah. They made it a point to make sure we would know who they were and let us know they were watching us and following us.

[she frowns]
Well, that's incredibly creepy and rude of them.

They can just starve, then.
no subject
They did, don't worry. We...put them back where they belonged and escaped the island.
no subject
Really? That's good... I'm so glad.
no subject
I'm glad, too. I don't want to have to deal with something like that ever again.
no subject
...I don't want you to have to, either.

It should be fine, you know? It's over as far as I know. No new surprises.

[she has not been up to the clouds yet]

Wanna go together? I was heading that way, too.
[ and we can handwave that they explored for a little while and wrap this if you want britt! ]
