It wouldn't surprise me... for the most part we all seem to be willing to cooperate with each other, but we keep getting reminders that this is a competition.
Eeeevery day. [ thanks everybody. thanks reapers. thanks brain. ] We keep getting all the messages about how cooperation's not going to work in the longrun, but so far people seem to be ignoring it. I can't tell if it's because they think it'll work differently or what.
I think, deep down... people tend to be optimistic at heart, even when they act like they're not. It's possible that as we get further into this, it will get harder and harder to keep cooperating with each other.
But... it's hard to let go of the hope that we might be able to work together rather than against each other.
It's a really nice way of thinking of it, Nahida. [ he can't say he agrees or disagrees because it's such a weird area right now, but he does think there are plenty of people will hold onto hope until the last minute.

I think...right now we're still strangers, in a lot of ways. But I wonder if that will change the longer we're here. We might all be in the same city for so long, but people are going to have different opinions of other people. [ i.e. some people might still be strangers and working together seems impossible. ]

...how we all interact with each other as time goes on is going to shape how we approach things. And the types of missions we're given, as well as the things we deal with on the weekends... that's going to shape how we interact with each other. There are a lot of variables here.
There's also the fact the reapers have said we can work with other teams on missions to earn points for both sides, but there's no guarantee that's what people will go with. But I kind of wonder if maybe that's what we should do? If the missions aren't the most important part of this game, it doesn't hurt to use them as a chance to work with others to try and make Saturdays easier.

That makes sense... personally, I think it'd be good for us to all work together on missions. It will teach us about how we all approach different problems. And on the one hand, it might make people less likely to turn on each other and try to Erase them if they know them well... but on the other, if someone goes and does that anyway, being familiar with how they work may make it easier to connect certain evidence to them later.
The latter is what I think is going to help us a lot. If we know each other well enough, we won't spend hours arguing about if a person would or wouldn't do certain things, or what they're capable of, or what they might have on them.
But yeah. It's also good to see who's like-minded and who can bring new ideas to the table.
Well... you might find some of the lectures boring. But a lot of the scholars there focus more on practical research than on theories... they often go out into the rest of Teyvat and test things out with hands-on practice.

That's a little different than what I thought. I'm not a lecture kind of guy by any means but...I've always been a little better at learning stuff by doing it myself. So maybe you're not that far off.

Sounds like a busy nation if nothing else if people are doing all kinds of research. But I think...the research you guys do is a little different than anything I could find in my world. I'm not sure what I would want to try and do.
Not knowing what you want to do right away is also okay. For me, half the fun of learning is trying a bunch of different new things until I find something that sticks.

They came to Sumeru looking for their sibling... they'd gotten separated. Umm, a lot of things happened... but I was able to find some information about their sibling in the end. They're heading to Fontaine next, but I hope they come back to visit.
It is kind of impressive. Some people might not even have a lot of friends in the same place they live. It says a lot about what kind of person the Traveler has to be.
