Depends on what you're building. The instructions are just pictures, but there are enough pieces that if you read it wrong or something, you can mess up pretty badly. [ ... ] You probably shouldn't try to build something by yourself.
Some pieces can get heavy or awkward, so it's better to have at least two people to help. It can make it more complicated if you're both interpreting the instructions differently, though.
[ imagine the hoshino siblings arguing over how to construct furniture. ]

They have got to be messing with us. [ she sure does talk weird for a kid but??? five hundred or so??? ] Hey, you're Nahida, aren't you?
[ please he's a guitarist. he's in high school. he hasn't even graduated. what are you talking about. was he not told they're playing pretend or something ]
Hmm, well... by talking with some of the others here, I've learned that what seems normal to them might sound very strange to me, or vice versa. I'm pretty old even for the place where I come from, but even taking that into account... I actually do know people who are even older than me.
It must be confusing. At least for those of us who are used to people being much older, people being younger isn't that strange, because we're accustomed to people of that age, too...
[hmm.]
Would it be easier to think of us as being from a movie?
It's the most likely explanation, where I'm from? That or cosplay. I don't really want to be delude myself, either, but this whole setup is pretty crazy.

[ who let a small child loose in ikea, where are your parents ]
...What are you laughing at?

I know an architect. I was thinking about how he might react if someone brought home furniture and expected him to put it together.
no subject
...I guess they would hate a place like this, though, huh. Bet they wouldn't even follow the instructions because they think they know better.
[ now THAT would be fun to watch ]
no subject
[hee hee.]
I wonder how easy to follow the instructions are. I can't say I've ever built furniture before.

[she sounds intrigued.]
Are they hard to build alone?

I see... that makes sense. Thank you for explaining it to me!
no subject
[ she would have figured it out without him but it's fine. ]
Too bad you can't take any of this stuff home with you. I'd like to hear how your friend takes it.
[ we are so starved for entertainment in this miserable city, please, give him the drama ]

[she sounds proud... kaveh, you're a genius...]
no subject
[ except this kaveh guy just let this child walk around? bro? your babysitting skills? anyway he's pulling out his phone to see who kaveh even is... ]
Oh, that guy. He helped me find new clothes earlier.
no subject
He did? That's not surprising... he's very good at helping people. [a beat.] But, he's not very good at accepting help from others...
[it worries her, honestly.]
no subject
[ sighs. he just met the guy and he's already tired. ]
Alright, I'll try to check in on him sometimes and see how he's doing. It's the least I can do.
no subject
...thank you. It puts my mind at ease to hear that.
no subject

oh dear. she smiles.]
Yes, that's me. And you're Kazuki, right?
no subject
[ this is not a question and it really should be. ]

How could you be older? Five hundred isn't even physically possible in the first place.
no subject
I think maybe what is and isn't possible might differe from place to place.

But that sounds strange to you, right?
no subject
Then again, it's like half of you walked right out of a movie set.
no subject
[hmm.]
Would it be easier to think of us as being from a movie?
