They might have earned more points for their team than completing a single mission would, but what about the remaining seven? If they get caught tomorrow, they've lost out on a higher amount of points over time.
And while it might get a little chaotic with thirty-eight of us trying to solve this... that's thirty-eight sets of eyes looking into whatever clues a single person has left behind. Statistically speaking, the odds are stacked against whoever did this.
