It's...a bunch of people like artists, right? So they create their own stuff. It's no wonder they're supportive. It's a rough gig. [ but he does wander ahead, already heading toward the fountain because it's there. ] This place must get pretty crowded in Sumeru itself.
[ even if it's empty, it's very obvious he's interested in the surroundings. ]
...we have something kind of similar where I'm from. Farmer's markets. They're usually way smaller and it's just everybody with their own produce they've grown and stuff they've made haggling with each other for prices that aren't even always fair. But everybody has to make a living.
It doesn't really feel the same either. This sounds more like a spot where anyone can show up just because instead of somewhere to get in and out and carry on with your business.
It's its own little community here. Many of the people who set up their stalls are here to make a living, but... this is also where they come to see their friends and family and spend time with them.
So maybe it is a little different. I'd be interested to see a farmer's market, though... we have farms, but most places do sell their own produce by default, so it doesn't sound quite the same as what you're describing. Yours sounds almost more like a special occasion?
A social event more than just business. I can see why this place draws a crowd. [ but he nods a little to that. ] I wouldn't say ours are special occasions so much as they're dedicated hours and spaces for anyone who wants to take a shot at it. But they aren't bad? Not really my thing, but I've been to a few a few times. Nothing nearly as elaborate as this.
If you wouldn't mind. I've been pretty curious since I've heard about it from you and Kaveh. And it's obviously important to both of you, so...yes. I want to see what makes it what it is.
[DON'T TAG ME RIGHT BEFORE TRIAL BREAK ENDS AAAAAAAAA
anyway, she focuses, and next - they find themselves outdoors in sumeru city! specifically, near the adventurer's guild. you know what it looks like so i'm not going to link you a video.]
[ comes back to this but we can just handwave the rest if you want britt idk how busy you feel. anyway again, he is appropriately impressed and it shows. ]
There are...a lot of hills. And plants. Is the entire nation of Sumeru just islands and stuff?
Ahh...that makes it a little more clear, yeah. We have rainforests and deserts and everything on earth but they're nowhere close to where we're from. That's more like...kind of across the world for the really massive ones. I'm almost kind of jealous.
...hehe, well. I've seen plenty of Teyvat through the dreams of my people and the memories of the world in Irminsul. If there's any sort of scenery you'd like to see, I bet I could put something together for somewhere in Teyvat.
The. Memories of the world? [ that sounds intense actually and he sort of blinks owlishly at the idea. ] I guess being a god does mean having access to a lot of information. I think...this is already way beyond my expectations. I can't even think of what I'd ask to see. Everywhere in Teyvat sounds like it's much more interesting than the things I've seen myself.
Hehe, yes. The memories of Teyvat flow through Ley Lines across the world's surface. These Ley Lines are actually the roots of Irminsul - everything that flows through them ends up within the heart of it. It's a lot of information, but...
[looking after it is her job.]
...well, what about something generic? Like... a mountainside, or a beach, or something like that.
...like the world tree. [ okay. no, that is a concept he's a little more familiar with and that makes more sense. ] A lot of information but better to have than not have at all, I bet.
[ he consider this... ]
Alright. What've you got in the way of beaches? [ he knows he's like. not offering much to her, but he's...trying. ] Even if it's not tropical, maybe just a beach people would go to relax.
[but, okay... beaches. she thinks back to the various places she's seen through dreams and through irminsul, and slowly, their settings start to shift around them.
[ oh good this was the beach i was thinking of anyway. also, he's immediately walking to explore, but going slow enough she can follow him. he's heading toward the ship but enjoying the scenery as they go. ]
That's a name I haven't heard of. But I assume it's a different nation just like the others. It feels...kinda bright here. [ wander... ] I've only been to the beach once or twice and it was a lot gloomier than this.
It's an island nation far to the southeast of Sumeru. In talking with Kazuki and some of the others, I've learned that parts of it resemble a less modern "Japan".
Ah. I've never been there either but I've seen pictures online and in movies and stuff, so I can sort of see it. Japan's made up of a whole string of islands, too, so that's probably part of it. Have you shown him or the others places in Inazuma yet?
I think it would be. They'd probably love to see something familiar but still a little different. Comparisons can be fun just to see what things change.
[ he says, approaching the wrecked ship and wandering inside to look without any sort of preamble. ]
[she follows him into the shipwreck! if my tv was free i would go load it up and play to get an idea of what they're looking at int here but alas, sara is watching something on the ps4.
so they find inazuma-appropriate sailor-y things in the shipwreck.]
It's very fun to learn about new places. I would like to see what their modern-day Japan looks like, in turn.
[ we can pretend because i only vaguely remember, too. so shipwreck stuff! these are now samurai-ish sailors because i said so, which means jonas is a little interested in what he's seeing. ]
Everything I've seen of it makes it look really cool. You'd love it. [ picking up a dull sword idly. ] Where else would you like to see, if you could?

...wow. [ it's open? but enclosed? and there are lights and stalls and it's a little area that still feels homey all the same. ] So where are we?
[ he says, ignoring his own failure to be more invested in this. he'll try again later. ]

[she smiles, gesturing up toward the area with the stage and the fountain.]
The people who spend most of their time here are very warmhearted. There's always a lively, supportive sort of atmosphere.

Hehe, not really islands. But this part of Sumeru is part of the rainforest. To the west... there's the desert.
