[to the park! nahida wants some fresh air before they all split up to go to wherever they are spending the night, so here she is. and ... here jonas is! she'll head on over.
[ he's at the park and he's on a bench, sort of staring at the lake. here is your metatext.
he. still doesn't quite look normal? it's like halfway between his normal teen appearance and a man in his mid-20s, maybe someone 21-22 age range. some of the scars on his face have reopened, but appear to have been attended to and are slightly more fresh than they were. he's in the green seeds coat so it's hard to see anything else that might have occurred, but there's fresh blood on the back at least. so something happened there.
but he tilts his head back to look at her, frowning softly in thought. ]
It's...[ hm. ] I think my memory's fine. Or like...it's not like things are gone? They're just a lot harder to remember in place of the other memories from the last couple of years.
That makes sense. When you've got a lot of information, it takes more time to sift through it all. If it were a book... it would be easier to find the memory you're looking for in a ten-chapter book than a hundred-chapter one.
This is kinda where I wish my brain came with a control-f function. [ nahida won't understand that. ] But...that's what it feels like. It's all there. But trying to figure out where it is and where it goes has been the most troublesome part. I don't know how long it's going to take to fix that.
It's...never mind. [ he shakes his head. ] I don't know if this is something a few days will fix, but at least it'll be enough time to get back into the routine of what we're supposed to do here. Maybe that'll be enough.
In the meantime, if I can help at all, just let me know. Since everything happened more "recently" for me, I should be able to remind you of it a little more quickly.
...did forget about the necklaces. Didn't exactly forget the giant hamster. [ hum. ] It's going to take time to figure out what pieces go where. I found that old injuries I had from here were healed years ago, but other ones I got years ago re-opened here. Everything's going against its own rules.
It's been...weird. It's been weird since we got back, and I'm not sure how to change that. [ hah. ] I have all of these scars and injuries I reasonably shouldn't have because we weren't gone that long on this plane, but after the decades of being in the other one they've set in pretty deep. I can't just remember memories of that whole life either. Those are going to have to stay.
...do you want me to take a look at them? I'm tapped out on healing from when people came back, but I can at least be able to verify what I saw if people ask later.
I'd appreciate it. I...Nahri healed us a few times on our mission, so some of the wounds are gone. But the others were from all kinds of years.
[ which means he's okay taking off his jacket and also his shirt? confidence week, and also he trusts nahida. she can see there are..various bandages and gauze on different stabs and bullet wounds that had opened up along his back, chest and arms. a lot of grazing wounds, some thin slices, some bigger ones. his hands are extremely scarred on the palms, too, along with a few minor face wounds that have been patched up.
it's about what you'd expect from 80 years fighting to survive. ]
but anyway she nods, taking stock of where each injury is and making a mental note to herself to follow up with jonas again after the trial for more healing if any of this happens to be painful.]
...it looks like you've been through a lot. But it sounds like, to you, you were in that place for a long time.

...hi Nahida. [ nailed it. ]

Did you also come out for some fresh air?

Something like that. I think...I'm taking time to remember why the park was so important to me in the first place.

...has jogging your memory helped at all?

Yes. We went treasure hunting yesterday, and got those necklaces out of it.

...I'm sorry. That's not a good feeling at all.

...it might not hurt, yeah. We have basic first aid but an actual healer could help make sure nothing's too messed up.

And this way I'll know what I need to heal on Saturday after everything is over if any more of your injuries open back up.
[except she'll be uNCURSING SHU so she won't be able to]
